Tockworth’s Clockworks

In which our heroes infiltrate Little Lockford to defeat the town’s traitorous security overseer and her clockwork minions.

Excerpt from The Korranberg Chronicle

Memorial held for House Sivis member
A memorial service was held yesterday for the grandson of Lysse Lyrriman d’Sivis, doyenne of House Sivis.

Hundreds of people gathered to pay their respects to Glissando Lyrriman d’Sivis, a member of the Cyran branch of the family, who had been based in Sharn since the Day of Mourning.

He is believed to have died while on an assignment in another part of Khorvaire. Though no official confirmation of his demise has been made, The Korranberg Chronicle understands he is believed to have died in the Mournland.

Lysse’s protégé, and Glissando’s sister, Harmony, gave a eulogy on behalf of her grandmother then shared some humorous anecdotes from Glissando’s childhood.

Glissando’s Cyran gnome adventuring companions were also invited to speak.

Dimble Ironhide gave a long rambling speech, during which he awkwardly tried to describe some of Glissando’s heroics on their various adventures together.

Well-known giant gnome, Sunny Glitterfall, spoke about Glissando’s social life, describing him as “the life of the party”.

Nissa Nackle offered a sombre Silver Flame blessing.

Catnip Evergreen summed up the mood when she said, “he will be missed.”

Into the Mournland

In which our heroes venture into the Mournland in search of a rogue artificer.

Excerpt from the Sharn Inquisitive:

Mournland expedition?
Rumours are rife in the docks that a party of Clifftop Adventurers’ Guild members has launched an expedition to the Mournland.

Details of the expedition are scarce but talk amongst dock workers has speculated on the reason for the journey.

“There were four or five adventurers who were going on a retrieval mission,” declared one sailor, who declined to be named.

“I heard they were on a mission for the ir’Dains to bring their family gold out of the Mournland,” said his companion.

The ir’Dain family declined to comment on the rumour, as did the Cyran Embassy regarding any knowledge of the expedition.

Wedding Bells

In which our heroes encounter trouble while attending a wedding in the Eldeen Reaches.

Excerpt from the Korranberg Chronicle:

House Sivis wedding
A non-dragonmarked member of prestigious House Sivis, Legato Lyrriman, recently married in the small village of Dockalong in the southern Eldeen Reaches.

Members of the house travelled from around Khorvaire for his wedding to local halfling woman Gwen Kemble, though it is understood that House Sivis head, Lysse Lyrriman d’Sivis, was not present for her grandson’s nuptials.

The ceremony was not a formal one, with a relaxed and rustic tone to the celebrations, akin to a local fair. Activities for the guests to try during the reception included archery, wrestling, log fighting, and performances of various kinds, including a magic show.

An interruption by a reputed local fey trouble-maker, who hypnotized many of the guests, was quickly defused and an enjoyable time was had by all.

Prisoner 13

In which our heroes infiltrate Dreadhold Prison to convince a master thief to reveal the key to a magically sealed treasure vault.

Excerpt from a House Sivis dispatch:

From: Glissando Lyrriman d’Sivis
To: “Grandma”

I’m sorry to hear that your health will prevent you from attending Legato’s wedding next month. I have yet to meet his bride, but she sounds like a novel addition to the family. It will be good to see so many relatives together again after so many years.

The most recent adventure I embarked on with my fellow gnomes in the Clifftop Adventurers’ Guild took us to Revel’s End. We received a mission from the Golden Vault leading us to one Varrin, a prominent member of the Axebreaker clan of Sharn dwarves.

He promised us a share of a great Dwarven treasure if we could find the key to the vault where it was hidden. It had been stolen by a dwarf who had betrayed the clan years ago, and its location had only recently been located in the ruins of Old Sharn below the city. The thief had been identified and captured and incarcerated on Dreadhold Island at Revel’s End. But the dwarves weren’t able to get her to reveal the key to the treasure vault.

Pudding Faire

In which our heroes find themselves caught in a time loop.

Excerpt from the Hatheril Harrier:

Village Faire marred by disturbing events
Honeypuddle’s Pudding Faire, usually a successful annual festival for small folk, was marred this year by ill-humored crowds and several disturbing events.

The worst was the shocking transformation of Mayor Barleydew into a frog by a seemingly intoxicated gnomish faire-goer during an altercation in the afternoon. As people attended to the mayor, the guilty party was able to flee into the forest and has not been seen since.

Mayor Barleydew’s curse wore off during the evening’s feast, and he returned to his normal halfling self. He is reported to have suffered no ill effects from his time as a frog and retains the sense of humor he is known for.

“I didn’t exactly jump at the chance to be a frog, but I’m hoppy to be back to my usual self,” he quipped.

The Dolurrhi Gambit

In which our heroes attempt to steal from a casino in order to embarrass its owner.

Excerpt from the Sharn Inquisitive:

Journey to the Afterlife
The journey to the Afterlife Casino from Sharn is intriguing. When you step off the lightning rail at First Tower, a casino coach awaits.

As with everything associated with the Afterlife Casino, the coaches and drivers keep to the afterlife theme. My driver is dressed as a ghost, while the coach has a funereal aspect to it.

Following signs labeled ‘This way to the Afterlife!’, the coach brings us to a landing beside a stream, where staff dressed in long, hooded robes wait in long, flat-bottomed boats.

After boarding the boat, our guide wordlessly ferries us downstream into a natural tunnel filled with mist. Ghostly sounds and illusions add to the effect that we are passing from this world into the next. A shiver passes down my spine, and I wonder if perhaps the casino is situated in a Dolurrhi manifest zone.

The Celestial Codex

In which our heroes seek to recover a stolen book containing dangerous information.

Excerpt from the Sharn Inquisitive:

Induction ceremony
An induction ceremony for new templars at the Church of the Cleansing Flame was held yesterday. … Nissa Nackle took part in a series of special rituals to welcome them into the order. The church was filled with family and friends of the inductees there to support them.

Excerpt from a House Sivis dispatch:

From: Glissando Lyrriman d’Sivis
To: “Grandma”

Nissa’s induction the other day was grand and she looked happy.

We’ve received a new mission which requires us to journey to Wroat to meet Vasil Talis Trome. Do you know him? Apparently one of his special books has been stolen, and we’ve been asked to get more details from him and then retrieve the book.

I’m not sure how long it will take, but the journey and mission is expected to take several days, so please don’t be concerned if you don’t hear from me for a week or so.

Forgotten Relics

In which our heroes uncover a Daask plot involving slave labor, kidnapping, theft, murder, and more!

Excerpt from the Sharn Inquisitive:

Street battle in High Walls
The Sharn Watch are investigating reports late yesterday of a street battle in High Walls.

Two kobolds were killed and two others were left unconscious in what witnesses have described as a running battle between Daask criminals and Cyran refugees led by a one-armed warforged through the High Walls streets.

Ingot, a bouncer at a warforged dive bar called the Cog Carnival, claims he was shot at by a gnome when the fracas started.

“Someone shot a fire bolt into the bar. I didn’t see who it was but patrons inside were pretty upset. A group of them chased after the shooter and when I tried to stop them one, a gnome, shot at me with a crossbow!”

Locals along the battle route described a humorous chase in which the one-armed warforged was followed by a human, four gnomes, a shifter, and a group of kobolds. Descriptions of the fighters were not reliably given, but witnesses were able to give vivid detail about participants’ encounters with washing lines and flocks of birds.

The fight appears to have ended in a small square where two kobolds were left dead and another two unconscious.

A watch spokesperson has asked for anybody with information to make contact.

Trust No One

In which our heroes attempt to retrieve a stolen ledger from an illicit auction.

Excerpt from the Sharn Inquisitive:

Slaughter at the Mad Warlock’s Tower
The Sharn Watch is investigating after a dozen people were killed at the Mad Warlock’s Tower last night.

A private auction of rare and magical artifacts is believed to have been in progress when several bidders were killed in an attempt by others to steal one of the auction lots.

“A group of five fanatical men sporting grey robes and shaven heads suddenly turned on the rest of us,” said one guest, speaking on condition of anonymity to protect their identity.

The Murkmire Malevolence

In which our heroes infiltrate a museum to recover an egg mistaken as a rare stone before the creature inside can hatch.

Excerpt from a House Sivis dispatch:

From: Glissando Lyrriman d’Sivis
To: “Grandma”

Lhara, from the Clifftop Adventurers’ Guild, has introduced us to Meera Raheer. Meera has invited the other gnomes and me to join her secret society, the Golden Vault. The society aims to right moral wrongs and other such worthy goals.

Meera has left us with a music box, elaborately decorated with images of dragons. I may be mistaken but I’m sure that occasionally the dragons shift position or are replaced by different dragons entirely. There is definitely something magical about that box!

Meera told us that whenever a golden key is delivered to us, we should put it in the music box’s keyhole and a message will play, informing us of a mission.

I will continue to learn with the Adventurers’ Guild until our next assignment.
